Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and performer who made her name with innovative raps which addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. She also received classical and jazz training later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. Following a focus on education, she graduated with a degree in journalism in college and a women's studies degree. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music. My Vag, her track My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a huge hit across the Internet and later appeared on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. It also included other popular hits, including the body positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. Her resume included both author and musician. Now she was looking for a new career path in acting. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. It was in June that she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
